Anteprima Lugana DOC

The Anteprima Lugana is the annual presentation of the new vintage of Lugana DOC wines by the Consorzio Tutela Lugana DOC — an event held in February at Sirmione when producers from across the Lugana production zone present their newly bottled and barrel-aged wines for professional tasting and media assessment. Lugana DOC, produced from Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana) grapes on the southern shore of Lake Garda straddling the Brescia-Verona provincial boundary, is one of Italy's most rapidly growing white wine appellations; the Anteprima provides an annual benchmark of quality and direction for the denomination. Open to professionals and journalists by accreditation; limited consumer tickets are sometimes made available. The Sirmione location provides an iconic backdrop for the event.
