The Festival Franciacorta is the annual celebration of Franciacorta DOCG — the classic-method sparkling wine produced in the hills south of Lake Iseo and Brescia that is considered Italy's finest Champagne-equivalent. The September festival opens the wineries of the Franciacorta denomination to visitors for two days of cellar tours, horizontal tastings of different producers' Cuvée Prestige and single-vineyard wines, and food pairings. The Franciacorta territory — rolling moraine hills covered with vineyards and dotted with noble estates — is spectacular in September, and the festival combines wine with the landscape in a format unique to the denomination. Producers of the calibre of Bellavista, Ca' del Bosco, and Berlucchi open their cellar doors. The event is an essential experience for lovers of fine sparkling wine visiting the Brescia-Garda area.
