Sagra del Pesce Riva

The Sagra del Pesce di Lago at Riva del Garda celebrates the freshwater fish traditions of the northern lake with tastings, cooking demonstrations, and a festival atmosphere on the Riva waterfront. Lake Garda's fish heritage — trout, perch, tench, pike, bleak (agone), and the prized carpione (endemic to Garda) — is the centrepiece of the programme, with local fishermen and restaurateurs presenting traditional preparations. The sagra takes place in September, after the peak summer season, when Riva is at its most relaxed and the autumn light on the Dolomite rockfaces above the town is at its most dramatic. A genuine taste of the northern lake's culinary identity, best combined with a visit to the historic centre and the waterfront fortress.
