Palio del Chiaretto

The Palio del Chiaretto is Bardolino's annual wine and rowing regatta festival, celebrating both the iconic Chiaretto di Bardolino rosé wine and the town's maritime heritage. Teams from the lake's fishing villages compete in traditional wooden boats on the lake while the harbour fills with wine producers' stands offering tastings of the new Chiaretto vintage. One of the most characterful local traditions on Lake Garda's eastern shore, the event has roots stretching back to the medieval rivalry between lakeside communities.
