Hotel Locanda San Vigilio Garda. San Vigilio is the most enchanting place on Lake Garda; stretching out across the cool limpid water, forming a point that takes its name from a sainted monk who lived in the year 1200. Even in Roman times it was wellknown and inhabited. You enter through a lane of ancient cypress trees and you can admire all around the beautiful olive trees characteristic to this area. At the end of the lane you will find the beautiful sixteenth-century villa built from a design by Sanmicheli, surrounded by gardens and a park with orange and lemon groves which thrive due to the mild climate. Within the garden lies the small ancient church dedicated to San Vigilio. A small cobbled street takes you down to the small port, near which you will find the Bar Taverna that has lawns and gardens for visitors to enjoy. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and other functions can be organized and reserved. Hotel Locanda San Vigilio overlooks the lake and is also situated near the port, it has received guests from the year 1500 and has 4 double rooms and 3 suites. Sehr schön gelegenes Haus direkt am Lago di Garda mit eigenem Minihafen. Sehr anspruchsvolle Zimmer im historischen Landhausstil. Ausgezeichnete Küche. Insgesamt sehr angenehm.

Hotel Locanda San Vigilio, ein Traum für Gardasee besucher. Ein wunderbares ambiente erwartet sie in diesem kleinen hotel, direkt im Gardasee. Die küche ist seit vielen jahren sehr empfehlenswert…..edlel gute italienische küche. Prinz Charles war auch schon gast in dem gartenpavillon. Leider mußten wir damals abreisen (aus sicherheitsgründen). Wir kommen aber immer gerne wieder. Ein besuch in der Oper in Verona und San Vigilio sind eine wunderbare ergänzung. Einige tage zum entspannen, herrlich. Die zimmer sind sehr individuell möbliert. Der service bietet für den anspruchsvollen gast alles was er sich wünscht!

Ho soggiornato un week end di settembre con mia moglie in questo bellissimo posto, acquistando un “regalo” che comprendeva il pernottamento con colazione, la cena con degustazione e un aperitivo sul molo. Appena arrivati ci siamo sistemati nella ns camera (bella, con vista lago, con arredi e mobili d’epoca) e poi siamo andati a rilassarci in piscina, sempre con vista lago e circondata da ulivi. Dopo poco abbiamo iniziato a percepire l’atmosfera magica di questo posto, culminata con l’aperitivo sul molo prima di cena: ti senti fuori dal mondo, a due passi dal lago, al tramonto, con poca gente (fino alle 18 non c’era un posto a sedere) e cigni ed anatre che nuotavano davanti a noi… Bellissimo! La cena ci e’ stata servita nel piccolo giardino vista lago: posto molto affascinante, (anche se “molto” pieno), due proposte: un menu’ di carne l’altro di pesce. Qualita’ buona, valido il servizio con personale attento. Colazione sempre vista lago, abbondante e di buona qualita’. Posto quindi fantastico.

A very old and quaint perfect small lakeside hotel with 15 rooms including a few suites. A very nice large pool is set in an old olive grove/ garden which was secluded with lovely lake views and was only a short walk from the hotel. The very small harbour adjoining the hotel has the ‘taverna’ attached so drinks and food are available served by first rate staff for most of the day and evening. The food and service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble! A beautiful place to visit as a couple, but if you have children the water is never far away, other than the pool and ‘stoney beach’ they may be bored…. The lounge was only large enough for about half a dozen people to sit, so really everyone, nearly all couples, did their own thing. Wifi worked perfectley. As for us? We loved it, and will be back ASAP !

Nous venons de passer 4 jours merveilleux dans ce petit hôtel de charme. L’architecture, l’emplacement, la décoration, en font un bijou. Le petit port où s’amarrent les Riva pour l’apéro, la salle à manger de plein air surplombant le lac, les vues époustouflantes, la boutique pleine de trésors “faits main”, tout concourt à une ambiance privilégiée. Parking gardé et possibilité de se faire déposer devant la réception. Le prix est justifié pour un hâvre de paix avec une jolie piscine, à l’écart de la foule des touristes. Service diligent et efficace, Directeur très présent et sympathique. Nous espérons pouvoir revenir en famille pour quelque occasion un peu exceptionnelle.

I spend 2 days in this hotel. Garda lake is a very nice place but even better from this incredible scene of Punta San Vigilio. I found the food & restaurant really good. Baia delle Sirene, beach close tp the hotel, is very charming and typical italian, must see, people are either german or italian, so perfect for a french man like lookg for some rest. Rooms, suite are amazing, with a wonderfull garden, to admire the sunset on the lake and in the mountain. I will definetly go back to this place at least one times a year.

Hier fühlt man sich wirklich, als gehöre einem der See. Traumhafte anlage auf einem Landzipfel kurz hinter Bardolino. Wir waren auf der Durchfahrt und für eine Nacht auf der Suche nach einer besonderen Unterkunft, um den Geburtstag meiner Frau zu feiern. Die Anlage hat uns voll überzeugt, alles klein und intim und zum Baden vom Steg direkt in den See. Es gibt aber auch einen Pool, schön im Olivengarten gelegen. Zum Abendessen gibt es keinen schöneren Platz als die lauschige Terrasse, alles liegt direkt am Wasser. Der Service und die Speisen sowie die Weinkarte sind hervorragend.

L’Hotel Locanda San Vigilio è un piccolo gioiello affacciato sul Lago di Garda, in una delle posizioni più suggestive del lago. Sono stata forse nella camera migliore del corpo centrale, la numero 5 con vista sul lago e sul piccolo porticciolo. Sono camere spaziose e molto curate: eleganti ma dal sapore vero con un pavimento di assi che scricchiola e mobili antichi. Il silenzio e la tranquillità sono assicurati. Il ristorante è ottimo anche se il servizio è un pò lento. L’ingresso alla Baia delle Sirene è compreso nel prezzo e mi sento di consigliarla alla piscina: un posto incantevole immerso in un uliveto dove si può fare un bel bagno nel lago.

Quando arrivi e ti siedi sul moletto ti trovi in una “bolla”. Sembra di essere sospesi in un altro mondo: magnifico, sereno, un’altra vita, lenta e irreale. Torniamo spesso perchè sono diventata dipendente, dall’atmosfera, dal ristorante (con personale discreto, attento, cordiale ma mai “ingessato”, un particolare riconoscimento al maitre di sala che ti fa sentire di casa!). Con la luna piena è un posto spettacolare, ma anche durante una bufera di pioggia e vento è stato affascinante trovare rifugio nel piccolo bar del molo. Il menù è apprezzabile e servito in modo impeccabile. Anche per mio figlio di 7 anni, quando lo abbiamo portato con noi, c’è stata grande attenzione e un menù speciale.

Il luogo è incantevole ed il fatto che si raggiunga con fatica a causa del traffico, dell’unica strada (la Gardesana) che lo serve, lo rende un isola felice, perchè mai troppo confuso. La passeggiata necessaria per raggiungere la locanda ti aiuta ad attraversare i tempi, sino allo scoprire tra i limoni e la lavanda una lingua di terra che abbraccia la struttura. Il ristorante è curato, l’ albergo delizioso, il personale non sa dire di no. Lo consiglio per un matrimonio con se stessi.

Anywhere else and this place would be an average hotel in need of a renovation. The rooms are nice but small and the shower had a mind of its own. But the location is absolutely fantastic and people come from across Garda Lake just to have a drink or a bite to eat at the bar. The mini harbour is lovely and the private pool is just superb. A great getaway from the busy touristy roads around Garda Lake.
