Welcome to the Hermitage San Giorgio Bardolino Verona. The Hermitage San Giorgio was founded in 1663. Construction work continued throughout the seventeenth century and the complex was finally completed with the construction of the church in 1704. Following Napoleon in 1810, the Hermitage was abandoned and the complex was inhabited by farmers until 1885, when a Camaldolese Community returned to reside. The monastic community gives to welcome everyone to this place dear to the religious memory of the surrounding area, inviting visitors to respect the unique character of a place of peace, silence and meditation. Hermitage St. George can not be reduced to a tourist destination, nor can be open to tourist visits the spaces in which the community lives and works. Nevertheless if you are interested in a hospitality experience at the Hermitage of San Giorgio which consists in prayers, lectio divina and silence, there are initiatives throught the year and many possibilities during the summer.
